Food Friday- Italian Edition

Ciao tutti! From Italy! As you know I've been here at my home for 10 days. The change in diet and exercise {I walk everywhere, not to mention the mountain of stairs to our flat} have done me good, I feel lighter and more energized. I have been mainly cooking everyday and shopping local. Something you may not know is that Italy has always been a "local" {Bio} place filled with fresh food, but the last few years unfortunately it's slowly been giving way to junk food! AHHHHHH! In the aisles of the supermercato you can find fat laden treats. I rarely post anything about this subject, but I'm so disappointed well I just have to spill the beans today.
While out jogging I pondered the Italian lifestyle in general. With the information age the age of simple Italian life seems to be slipping away. However some of the old ways, well they just won't die. Even with the "modern" unhealthy additions to the local grocer, there are still the die hard Mama's and Nonna's that like it the old fashioned way. My conclusion is I will bridge the cultural gap and enjoy the old style Italian fare and leave the prepackaged fast food on the shelves.Italy is still Italy even though it's a changing world.
