Julia Turshen's Cocktail of the Week

We're in a Kentucky bourbon kind of mood around here. It was almost too perfect when my friend, Julia, sent me her recipe. Julia Turshen is a food writer, producer and private chef who was born and bred in Manhattan. I met Julia when I was tricking out Gwyneth Paltrow's flat in Nashville while she was filming the movie "Country Strong", Julia and I instantly had a bond, our love of food! Over the last few years we have had the pleasure of sharing several stellar meals and lively conversations. Julia is older and wiser than her years, I am happy to call her a friend. Although she's young, she's extremely accomplished and most notably, she co-authored Spain: A Culinary Road Trip with Mario Batali and Gwyneth Paltrow, assisted Ms. Paltrow on My Father's Daughter and co-authored the The Kimchi Chronicles with Marja Vongerichten.  Julia has also written extensively for Food & Wine, epicurious, GOOP, interviewmagazine.com and Rue.The Louisville
