Chris and his Monkey Brew
Last Sunday I was super excited to taste beer made by one of our dear friends Chris Mowry, he is a university professor, and scientist (he studies monkeys), and a musician, + a super nice guy. Chris is married to one of my favorite editors Lisa Mowry. She and her family joined us here for sunday supper. Chris brought Monkey beer, his very own brew, and I put together antipasti, of Pinestreet Market goodies + local cheese, olives and flatbread.
We had a great afternoon visit, followed by Pinestreet brats on the grill the perfect compliment to Chris's Monkey brew.
Local chow chow, and good and evil pickles from Tybee Island GA, with grilled corn with olive oil, and tons of cracked pepper.
My own garden variety tomatoes with balsamic and Sweetgrass Dairy goat cheese salt and plenty of Olive Oil (I bring tons back from our town in Italy, grown literally around the corner from our house there)
Dessert was rustic apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream.
What a fun way to end the weekend.
Everything was local, fresh and delicious!
It's raining here, so sunday supper with be slow roasted organic chicken with rosemary and meyer lemons, with oven dried tomatoes, polenta, and arugula salad with feta, and garlic mustard dressing.
