My Nashville project ~ the start of a good thing
Nat and I found some very cool things in Nashville on our crawl, one thing we will be back for is Bubble Tea, yummy
Great finds all over the city, accessorizing our models will be so easy and fun!
This is such a perfect table for a small space and entertaining, it moves up and down.
Wonderful industrial lighting for the kitchen
Recently I was asked by a developer in Nashville to design and style several models in projects they have under construction.
This developer from what I can tell is the only one in the country doing well. Besides winning many awards for design, they are also selling and providing Nashville with cutting edge choices in design. Bristol Development are dream clients as they have a real vision and design sense that not only appeals to me , but allows me the freedom to design something special and something different than shown in models all over the country.
In my opinion, most models are boring, furnished with a ho hum attitude usually from one furniture resource without any imagination what so ever , edgy design and cutting edge finishes are never an option. Get in get it done, seem to be the design philosophy in most cases. But this company wants to make it different, creative, and this is probably the reason that they sell furnished models on a regular basis.
So while in Nashville we walked our projects, and then spent the rest of the time getting inspired walking , and checking out the local shops in Nashville. To our great surprise we found lots of wonderful, and friendly resources.
So as far as styling out these pads, we are set. I am enlisting the help of local carpenter and hgtv designer Chip Wade, he will build us custom furniture ( my design ) I have also arranged to have Leather Creations do great upolstered pieces designed by me as well. I have very cool idea for the dining room, stay tuned. We will buy things from local and well as national resources and then install and style out the spaces.
Bristol has decided to enter my models into a contest, I hope I win! One thing this economic down turn has allowed me to do is to reinvent myself and do things that I would not have considered 2 years ago. I am so excited to be designing spaces and using that creative muscle again.
Here are a few shots from our trip, more to come as we progress.
Thanks to Ashlyn Hines, the driving force and a creative inspiration to me! She is a developer with a vision and a quest really outside the box, my kind of woman!
