my pick for bed linens, Unison.

Unison began in 2006, when husband and wife team Robert Segal and Alicia Rosauer returned to the States after a four–year design stint in Finland. Inspired by modern design, nature, architecture, photography, and traditional textiles, the two worked to establish a product line that would bring modern design into practical daily life.

Unison's collection of printed bedding, blankets, throw pillows, and table linens mix organic and graphic inspired motifs for a modern and colorful look. Some of the items are seasonal, but all together Unison's products are year–round staples that redefine the classic home textile. Referred to as “minimal but with substance,” the collection strives to be warm and attainable while maintaining minimal, modern qualities through the use of unique color and quality fabrics.

Conscious of their environmental impact and quality of product, Unison commits to manufacturing all of their bedding and blankets under Oeko-tex certified standards and uses certified organic fibers for their maturing organic lines. Participating in local production, their signature hand–printed pillows and table linens are cut and sewn at small factories in Chicago.

Since their debut collection, Unison has been selected as a finalist for the Best New Product Award in the Home Accessories Category from the New York Home Textiles Market Week in 2007 and was also honored with an American Graphic Design Award for excellence in communication and graphic design in 2006. Their most recent recognition was for their 2008 Spring Catalog that was included in the GraphisDesignAnnual2009.

I love it when I stumble onto a website and have an "ah-ha", happy reaction! The collection that is offered by Unison is a fresh approach to bedding it is always a great surprise to find something new. Please visit their site, shopping the site is easy and very satisfying. Bravo!
