Style Lesson: Salone Internazionale del Mobile

This week I wanted to give you a little something different! As most of you know by now, we have a home in Italy. I try to get to the Milan Furniture Fair every year in April and gather a little, NO A LOT of inspiration.As a stylist it's most important to travel to other countries and recharge your creative battery, this is not an option as stylists, it's a must. So if you want to be a well rounded stylist of any sort, travel, pick a place and book a ticket.This year I will be doing a series of posts on what I saw, and how it inspired me. It seems natural that I would start at Rossana Orlandi's amazing spazio for new and established artisans from all over the world. The space itself is an inspiration. Surrounding an expansive courtyard is a series of rooms, corridors, hallways and staircases filled with handmade goods. It's a must when in Milan for the show. Don't miss it.Shown above is Rossana literally holding court in her courtyard.These really adorable pen and ink drawings lined a hallway in the villa. Here's a drawing of Rosanna. They were literally drawn on the wall and then framed with faux gilded cardboard frames.One of my favorite rooms was by this handmade line: Bokja design. Insanely creative and cool I wanted everything in the room!Obviously eye candy and something not to be missed during The Milan Furniture Fair. The one thing I find remains the same every year, is that creative energy is something that never wains and that in itself is so inspiring.
