A Little Change at Annette Joseph Style
Hi Everyone!
It’s Nicole, Annette’s former web manager and (still current!!!) friend. Wow, it feels really really really strange to be using the word former, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Since most of you have been here with me for seven years, you know that I’ve been working on a few aspects of my career. For one, I launched Grandmillennial Shop, an online retail shop, in 2019 which has proven to be a hugely successful venture. It even landed me a feature in Southern Living!
Even before Grandmillennial Shop, I was working diligently to become a freelance journalist. I went from small stories in hyperlocal magazines to full-fledged regular spreads in national publications. Those stories lead me to pursue more food and travel writing which keeps me on the road a few weeks each month. As you can surmise, that means less time to devote to my client work. It’s bitter-sweet, but Annette and I are very much still friends. Now, we don’t have to let work get in the way of our hilarious conversations. We can cut right to the chase!
What’s really special is that I am leaving Annette (and you!) in the hands of one of my oldest friends, Lauren. Lauren and I have known each other since middle school. I used to go on family vacations with her, and we spent many a summer day riding in her Jeep Grand Cherokee listening to music, and getting lunch at, where else when you live in a small town, Zaxby’s! Since our high school days, we have stayed in touch through many ups and downs, making an effort to see each other at least annually for Lauren’s famous ornament swap. Lauren is going to officially introduce herself over the next few days, and I know you will enjoy her.
Please follow me over @grandmillennialshop where I am peddling vintage and antique goods but also sharing loads of inspiration. If you’re looking for my byline, you can find it in AAA Alabama Journey, Good Grit, Southern Living, and more.
Thank you for the love and memories over the years!
Xo Nicole
