Meet Lauren

Hi everyone! My name is Lauren and I’m Annette’s new web manager. Like Nicole mentioned in her post, she is one of my oldest and dearest friends. We survived those awkward middle school years and continue to support each other through the highs and lows of adulthood.

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself so we can all get to know each other better. I met my husband in Atlanta and we have been together for ten years. We have two little boys who keep our house a little crazy and very loud. For many years, I was a high school history teacher, but I decided to step away to spend more time with my family and explore new opportunities. We recently moved to the suburbs and are in the middle of renovations which has been a journey! But I am so excited to turn my vision of our forever home into a reality.

When I was in the classroom, I taught world history and U.S. history and I truly love all things history. I think my passion for history sparked my love for travel. I have visited many countries in Europe, a few different cities in India, and even spent a month in Liberia, Africa teaching. These trips inspired me to write. I kept detailed journals of every experience and when I returned home, I continued to use writing as a way to express myself, which is why Nicole thought I would be a great fit to work with Annette.

I know I have big shoes to fill because Nicole is amazing, but I think I’m up for the challenge. I can’t wait to keep sharing more of Annette’s stories with each of you!
