One of the newer additions to my cookbook library is this gorgeous cookbook: Small Plates and Sweet Treats, by Aran Goyoaga. Like everyone I am interested in the current gluten free trend. My own belief is that even though I am not gluten sensitive, I find that reducing the amount I consume makes me feel better. In the U.S. the flour we consume is so chemically altered that I believe it's making us all feel sluggish and awful when we eat it. Funny thing is when I am in Italy, I eat what ever I please... bread, pasta you name it and I feel great. This only further substantiates my theory that it's the processing that makes me feel lethargic.
So when I discovered Aran's cookbook I was thrilled. Not only is the cookbook beautiful but it's also filled with great recipes. Aran is a super talented lady. I have had the pleasure of getting to know her and she's just lovely. I encourage you to pick up a copy of this book and add it to your collection. I also suggest incorporating these recipes into your diet, you'll feel better for it.
I will be back in Italy next week and posting from there. I know how much you guys enjoy my food posts, so I will be cooking once again and posting recipes. I will also have some surprise chef guests joining me mid July and will be posting some really cool stuff! So stay tuned.
