Julie Holloway's Cocktail of the Week
I first met Julie while scouting her home for Better Homes and Gardens. She was darling when we met, she actually followed my blog and styling gigs. She was pretty happy to meet me, of course I was very flattered, and a little creeped out (kidding). It just never occurs to me that people would follow what I do, when I meet people that do, well, I'm surprised. In Julie's case, it was such a huge compliment when I realized how very talented she was. Needless to say her home was accepted and we shot it for BHG about 6 months after meeting her. Enough about me, here's a little 411 about Julie.Julie Holloway is a very talented, young designer in Atlanta, Georgia + she is an active mom with 2 young sons, and a devoted wife. DId I mention that she is an avid blogger and is quite well respected in the blogger world with her hip, home blog named Milk and Honey Home? She also recently participated in Design Wars on HGTV. Whew, what a busy lady! The bottom line on Julie is that not only has she got great taste, but she has a great future in design + she's super loveable.I am happy to say that I have indulged in a couple of cocktails since our shoot with Ms. Holloway , so it's fair to say she makes a mean one. Here is her most creative rendition of a martini, for summer...don't mind if I do.Mojito Martini:1.5 measures Bacardi Limon.5 measure Absolute Citronhalf of a lime, sliced8 mint leavesDo a rough chop of the mint leaves. Fill a shaker half full of crushed ice. Put all of the ingredients into the shaker and shake it up well. Serve it in a chilled martini glass with some extra mint leaves as garnish.Yum! I love mint. Julie's Atlanta mint addicts hot tip? If you love mint, you need to try the homemade mint ice cream at Cakes & Ale in Decatur. To die for!!Here is an image of Julie's kitchen that I styled for Better Homes and Gardens. She's the best! it was a blast to work with her and the photographer, Rob Brinson.
