Join Us for the Ultimate Shopping Trip in Italy
Back by popular demand, this is the ultimate shopping experience in Italy. I will take you with me to all my favorite places to shop. Think flea markets, local food purveyors, antiques markets, and some of my secret antique vendors in the countryside.
If you have ever dreamed of perusing local flea markets or regional antiques fairs and buying from Italian artisanal food purveyors. This is for you. Join me, Annette Joseph, Internationally known Prop Stylist and owner of La Fortezza as we tour the Italian countryside to shop the flea markets and dealers of the region. I will lead you to my secret haunts, favorite junk shops, and chic shops and that are brimming with amazing treasures. We will also be shopping the chic markets and shops of the classically fashionable beach town of Forte dei Marmi.
You will stay at La Fortezza, a chic minimalist bohemian compound in the Northwestern region of the Lunigiana in Northern Tuscany. Along with shopping excursions, you will enjoy yoga on the terrace, cocktails and sunsets on the terrace. Throughout this retreat, we will dine on the various La Fortezza terraces with views of the mountains or the vineyard. Drink the wine from our private, on site vineyard. Spend your free time meandering the 27 acres of the property to forage, read or simply relax by the pool.
This is the perfect girlfriend retreat, mother/daughter getaway or sister adventure. We will pamper you and lead you through the most amazing shopping experiences.

Note: Airfare is not included. Students fly into nearest airport which is Pisa, Italy. There are no airport pick-ups. You are responsible for transportation to and from the workshop to La Fortezza as well as to and from town for meals or individual excursions. We strongly recommend that you plan to hire a car service or rent a car. There are no taxis. We use Tuscan Drivers
All attendees traveling from the United States are required to purchase short term international travel health insurance. Proof of travel insurance will be required to attend any workshop.

The Setting: The Fortress
The Fortress, the Joseph's Tuscan summer home and workshop location, is nestled in the heart of Northern Tuscany a region known as the Lunigiana. The medieval stone compound sits on 27 acres, on the grounds are Roman ruins, a river and the vineyard. The Fortress has a breathtaking view of the Apennine mountains & the marble-topped Apuane Alps and the valley below. The property is surrounded by olive groves, chestnut trees, and fruit orchards. The Fortress was a medieval defensive tower in a region that had over 120 castles and kingdoms to protect in the 15th century. On the property there are 3 outbuildings, a massive terrace, and a private living quarters. You can wander the grounds with camera in hand and capture the Italian country life during your stay

Wednesday, June 21: Arrival Day (please plan to arrive after 3:00 p.m.)
3:00 - 6:30 pm - Arrivals at The Fortress. Light lunch or snacks available. Enjoy this to relax, shower, nap, and unpack
6:30 pm - Meet and Greet Aperitivo on the terrace. Cocktails and nibbles will be served
7:30 pm - Welcome dinner on the terrace
Thursday, June 22: Excursion to Local Flea Market and Wine Tasting
8:00 am - Sunrise yoga on the terrace for those who want to join
9:00 - 10:00 am - Breakfast
10:30 - 11:00 am - Flea Market tour
11:30 - 12:30 pm - Local Winery, tasting and shopping
1:00 - 2:00 pm - Lunch at La Fortezza
2:45 pm - Pasta making lesson with the flour from the mill
5:30 - 6:30 pm - Rest & relaxation
6:30 pm - Aperitivo on the terrace.
7:30 pm - Dinner at La Fortezza
Friday, June 23: Excursion to Emilia
8:00 am - Load the van and head out. Breakfast at the Autogrill

12:30 - 2:00 pm - Lunch at Borgo di Balsamico. Tour and balsamic tasting, shop and ship
4:30 - 6:00 pm - Rest & relaxation

Saturday, June 24: Lucca Shopping Day
8:00 am - Breakfast
9:00 am - 12:00 pm - Lucca Shopping Excursion We will tour the decorative arts quarter
12:30 - 2:00 pm - Lunch at a local restaurant
2:30 - 4:00 pm - Free time to walk around Lucca
4:00 pm - Head back to La Fortezza
6:30 pm - Aperitivo
7:30 pm - Dinner at La Fortezza
